PA 3: Environment and Energy

Adriatic Network for Marine Ecosystem

The overall objective of ADRINET is to improve a joint coastal management system and create governance plans to preserve biodiversity and coastal ecosystems inside the Programme area, whose territories share the same issues in terms of pollution, over-exploitation of fish stocks, illegal fishery, fish sophistication and ‘ghost fishing’.

The project includes investments in technology, to map fishing routes and monitor sea pollution, and provides services, scientific support and skills for fisheries professionals and consumers, in order to make fish consumption safer and compliant with EU rules and guidelines.

Target Groups

We are proud to
share our vision.

The targets covered by ADRINET are many and varied.

Firstly, professional fishermen, engaged as fundamental pillars in any realistic sea-protection policy. The project is also addressed to the community of scientists and scholars, who could benefit from the data gathering and the in-depth studies carried out by the project. Then, it is addressed to the communities: families, students, tourists who are directly connected with the subject as fish-consumers. Finally, there are Governments and decision-makers who can replicate the model within the Programme Area.
